Located on the East Side of Frederick, Maryland, we are steps away from beautiful Carroll Creek Park, and are affiliated with Everedy Square & Shab Row, Frederick’s largest cluster of specialty shops, eateries and services housed in beautifully restored 19th Century buildings in Historic Downtown.
Eastside Artists' Gallery is located on the East side of Frederick, Maryland. Opened April 2019, the art gallery is a co-op of twelve artists living in and around Frederick.
Each month the walls of the gallery get a new face, highlighting the work of one of our artists. Opening receptions are the first Saturday of each month.
Learn Acrylic Painting with Doug Moulden. Classes are held Monday and Thursday mornings; drop-in, paint what you want, all levels of experience are welcome.
Mary Waldhorn, Artist, Art Educator and Curator, will be displaying her art in an exhibit called "Metaphors and Water Fowl" at the Eastside Artists' Gallery. Her theme encompasses two strands of work which inspire her paintings regularly. One is her appreciation of the beautiful water fowl which she always finds magical as she glimpses them on her nature walks. Some of Mary's metaphorical works have been created to help her process the political world we all swim in. Because of the ongoing global pandemic and difficult economic times for many, Ms. Waldhorn would like to donate $100.00 of the proceeds from each of her sales to Doctors Without Borders or The Maryland Food Bank. If you purchase a piece of work during this exhibit, you may choose the charity to which you would like her to contribute.
Joining Ms. Waldhorn is Jo Elizabeth Butler, the founder of the Ethiopian Children's Appeal and Jewels for Schools charities. Both support rural school children and HIV/AIDS orphans in Ethiopia. She makes and sells jewelry to raise funds and 100 percent of all proceeds go directly to helping Ethiopian children. Her jewelry features beads from all over the African continent, silver made by artisans in Ethiopia as well as Swarovski crystals and pearls.
Doug Moulden, accomplished local artist, offers Acrylic Painting Classes for all levels of experience. Class includes short lectures on paint, color, composition, values, textures and art history. No experience necessary. Pay as you go and you choose what you want to paint.
