Lee Foran & Linda D. Acierto
"The Women, The Houses, The Water" is a collaborative exhibition showcasing the distinct yet thematically connected works of artists Lee Foran and Linda D. Acierto. The exhibition highlights the beauty of everyday life, memory, and nature—framed through both abstract and realistic lenses. These artists, though working in different mediums and visual languages, converge in their ability to evoke emotion, nostalgia, and contemplation through their art.
Lee Foran
Lee Foran’s contribution to the exhibition is a series of fiber-based creations that weave together narratives of domestic life, human connection, and personal reflection. Lee uses fabric and textile materials as her medium, constructing pieces that are both visually striking and emotionally resonant. Her works are filled with rich textures, bold colors, and raw, unfinished edges—symbolizing the beauty and imperfection found in the rhythms of daily life.
Lee’s art is deeply personal yet universally relatable. Through the imagery of women, homes, and shared spaces, she invites the viewer into intimate moments that resonate across cultures and experiences. Each piece is a story in fabric, layered with history, emotion, and tactile warmth.
The use of fabric not only adds dimension but also speaks to the traditions of craft and storytelling passed down through generations—particularly among women. The softness of the material is juxtaposed with the strength of the narratives it carries. Lee describes her process as a way of “honoring the complexity of everyday experiences—messy, joyful, and filled with meaning.”
Her hope is that viewers find reflections of their own lives in her work—whether in the quiet comfort of a home, the connection between women, or the beauty of lives lived fully, with all their imperfections.
Linda D. Acierto
In contrast, but deeply complementary are Linda D. Acierto’s evocative seascapes inspired by the oceans, seas, and bodies of water she has encountered both locally and during her travels abroad. Working primarily in acrylic, Linda captures the essence of water in all its moods—from tranquil and glassy to wild and untamed.
Her work demonstrates a deep appreciation for the vibrant colors and fluid movement of the sea, using layered brushstrokes and rich tones to convey the rhythmic energy of waves and the stillness of reflective waters. Her paintings are more than depictions—they are sensory experiences, inviting viewers to feel the spray, hear the waves, and immerse themselves in the vastness of aquatic landscapes.
Through Linda’s eyes, water becomes a metaphor for emotion, memory, and change—shifting with the tide, yet grounded in presence. She finds endless inspiration in its ever-changing form and light, believing that “the ocean, like art, offers infinite opportunities for reflection and discovery.”
We invite you to the Artists Reception on Saturday, November 1st from 5:00-7:00pm
